Our Settling-In Process
- Step 1: Parent visit
Visit the nursery, meet your child’s key person, and explore the spaces together.
- Step 2: Short sessions
Begin with short, supported visits to build familiarity and trust.
- Step 3: Gradual independence
We slowly extend sessions as your child becomes comfortable.
- Step 4: Routine established
Your child settles into a consistent, happy daily routine.
Key Person Approach
Each child is assigned a key person who builds a strong bond, supports emotional wellbeing, and keeps you updated on progress and milestones.
Daily Communication
We share daily updates via the nursery app, including activities, meals, and rest times.
Tips for a Smooth Transition
- Talk positively about nursery before the first day
- Establish a morning routine and keep drop-offs consistent
- Bring a comfort item for reassurance
- Keep goodbyes short and reassuring
Typical Settling-In Timeline
Every child settles in differently, but many families see progress within the first two to three weeks. We adjust the pace to suit your child’s temperament and needs.
Short, supported sessions with a parent present at the start.
Longer sessions with growing independence and confidence.
What to Bring
Please bring spare clothes, nappies (if applicable), a labelled water bottle, and weather-appropriate outdoor wear. See our what to wear guide for seasonal tips.
